KSI slapped Dillon Danis across the face with a pancake as their first press conference descended into chaos.

YouTube sensation and rapper KSI makes a return to the boxing ring on March 29 at the Co-op Arena in Manchester to take on MMA star Danis.

KSI was originally scheduled to fight Wayne Bride in the main event of the Misfits card, but the latter pulled out after crude comments were made about his past feud with John Terry.

Both men had strong words for one another during the London press conference on Tuesday, during which Danis described his fight with KSI as ‘easy’.

"This is going to be an easy fight, you’ve seen the forehead on him," he said.

"I’m gonna land some big shots on him."

KSI responded: “When I hit you bro, you’re going to be like: 'What the f*** is in these gloves'.”

The 31-year-old also revealed that Danis was his 'fourth or fifth' choice for the bout, having tried to tempt ex-UFC stars Nate Diaz and Tony Ferguson to accept a fight for his boxing comeback.

Both men also unofficially agreed to a knockout clause for their fight during the press conference, meaning that should either KSI or Danis stop one another by KO the other fighter will forfeit his purse.

KSI's slap comes just a week since Chris Eubank Jr shocked the boxing world when he slapped an egg round the face of Conor Benn ahead of their fight at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Of course, this year, Shrove Tuesday - otherwise known as Pancake Day - fell on March 4, so it wouldn't be hard to find where KSI took his inspiration from.

KSI's fight against Danis will mark the end of an 18-month hiatus, with the Watford native's last outing in the squared circle coming against Tommy Fury in 2023.

Danis, meanwhile, has stepped into the boxing ring just once in October 2023, when he was disqualified for attempting to put his opponent, Logan Paul, in a headlock.

The 31-year-old is still competing in MMA, having just signed with the Global Fight League.

He will face former UFC title contender Ferguson on his debut with MMA's newest promotion and the bout is set to take place in May.

Ahead of the press conference, KSI told talkSPORT’s Drive that his end goal in boxing was to ‘create moments’.

He is set for a promising 2025 in the squared circle, which is part of a three-fight plan as uncovered by marvelbet369.com earlier this year.

"My end goal is to create moments, to have big fights, big names, to create an occasion and build Misfits," he told Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent.

When describing Danis, KSI said: “He’s a guy that is going to get knocked out on March 29.

"Most people when they fight me don't like great. So he’s not going to look great when he fights me."

'The Nightmare' also discussed a potential historic fight on the island site of the abandoned Alcatraz prison in San Francisco after a meeting with Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh.

This will be KSI's eighth fight as a boxer. He made his professional debut against Paul, who is now his business partner, in November 2019.

The pair were huge rivals at the time, but KSI got the last laugh as he defeated Paul via majority decision after the YouTubers had fought to a draw at the first time of asking.

KSI has since stepped into the ring with a range of fellow YouTubers, before he fought Fury in October 2023.
