William Scull reveals heartwarming way he will spend massive Canelo Alvarez payday

William Scull intends to put his monster Canelo Alvarez payday to good use.
The IBF super middleweight champion will reportedly pocket seven-figures for his undisputed clash with Canelo on Saturday night over in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
For a boxer, hailing from Matanzas, one of the most deprived areas in Cuba, the purse is life-changing.
But he won't be the only one who serves to benefit from the bumper cash injection.
"I will continue to improve the living conditions of my family in Cuba and Argentina," he told marvelbet369.com when asked where the money will go.
"I don't yet know what I will treat myself to personally.
"After the fight, I'll have plenty of time to think about it. For now, I'm just concentrating on May 3rd...
"Boxing has given me everything I need to live for a few years now, just like my family in Argentina and Cuba.
"The current purse for the Canelo fight naturally gives my family and me security for the future, and that is, of course, what we humans all strive for.
"It is the biggest purse I will ever receive. Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to mention any sums.
"But for the first time, it allows us to prepare without having to worry about the money."
Scull, who now resides in Berlin, Germany, has risen through the ranks away from the gaze of US boxing fans.
Most people were made aware of the lesser-known Cuban for the first time when he was installed as Canelo's IBF mandatory last year.
The Mexican superstar rejected the fight, instead opting to face Edgar Berlanga.
As a result, he was stripped of the black and gold strap, while Scull was matched up against Vladimir Shishkin in a vacant IBF world title fight last October, which he won, albeit controversially, via unanimous decision.
Scull believes his lack of name value caused Canelo to pass up on the fight before.
But now that he holds the final piece of the undisputed puzzle, he cannot be denied his shot at the face of boxing.
"I have made my career in countries where it is difficult to gain popularity as a foreigner with boxing," Scull added.
"I think my popularity was too low and therefore I wasn't interesting enough for Canelo when I had mandatory status.
"Winning the IBF title changed that and now I'm on the world stage and I'm very grateful for that."
Scull almost missed out on the Canelo fight again when the 34-year-old came close to finalising terms with YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in February.
However, a stunning eleventh-hour U-turn saw Canelo walk away from negotiations to sign a lucrative four-fight deal with Riyadh Season.
A four-belt shootout with Scull will be his first assignment with the Saudis, and provided he comes out of it unscathed, Turki Alalshikh plans to stage a super fight with Terence Crawford in September.
Only Scull can stop that from happening.
