World Boxing Super Series final: George Groves has ten days to prove his fitness before he is replaced by Chris Eubank Jr, says Kalle Sauerland

George Groves has got ten days to prove his fitness before he is replaced by Chris Eubank Jr in the World Boxing Super Series final, tournament promoter Kalle Sauerland has told talkSPORT.
Groves is currently recovering from surgery on his shoulder, having dislocated it during his semi-final victory over Eubank Jr back in February.
His super-middleweight final against fellow Brit Callum Smith was due to take place on June 2, but it has been rescheduled for July 7 to give him more time to recover.
But, Sauerland has now said Saint George has ten days to prove his fitness before he is replaced by the man he beat to reach the final.
Speaking on Thursdays Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, WBSS promoter Sauerland said: Weve given [Groves] a lot of time.
Were waiting for the final medical reports, were working on solutions. Obviously Eubank is a potential substitute who would go into the final.
The final cant wait. Season two was announced yesterday, which starts in September, so simply its a must.
There will always be injuries in boxing, especially when you have the top guys fighting each other. Its a physical sport and at the top end its highly enduring and you do get injures. Thats why we have this substitute system.
June 2nd is off, so weve given him more time to recover which is a very generous offering because the tournament and the board want George in the final.
They want to see George Groves vs Callum Smith - that is the final, theyve earned it and they should be in the final.
But of course theres a limit to the time constraints on an injury and thats being assessed at the moment.
To cut it short, hes got ten days.
