Dillian Whyte v Joseph Parker: Whyte promises to stop former world heavyweight champion, despite weight concerns

Dillian Whyte wants to do what no man has done before and stop Joseph Parker, despite fears about his weight.
The Brixton brawler weighed in over a stone heavier than his opponent ahead of their heavyweight battle, which is live and exclusive and talkSPORT from the 02 on Saturday night.
Despite claims Parker’s speed and boxing brain could prove problematic, the Brit insists he is ready for the challenge.
“I’m good, I’m ready to go, I train hard and I’m ready to go in there and do damage now,” he told talkSPORT at the weigh-in.
“That’s it, there’s not much more to say or much to talk about really.
“That’s it, it’s go time now.”
In his last bout, New Zealander Parker lost his WBO title to Anthony Joshua in a rather one-sided points victory.
Whilst the 2012 Olympian was given little to worry about on the night back in March, Parker showed his quick hands and solid chin.
Despite fears the heavier Whyte could struggle to keep up with the pace, the 30-year-old insisted he was comfortable in the knowledge he was always going to weigh significantly more than his rival.
He continued: “I’m fine, I’m the bigger man and I was always going to be heavier with a short camp – we had, what, seven weeks to get ready?
Joseph Parker has an ominous warning for Dillian Whyte ahead of their clash at the 02 on Saturday night.
“We wasn’t trying to focus on getting down, we’ve been trying to focus on getting strong and trying to function at the weight.
“I’m moving quick and being effective so we wasn’t really bothered.
“It wasn’t like we had 12 weeks to try and drain the weight and then go crash, bang, wallop and be a detriment to myself trying to shake the weight out.”
Like Whyte, Parker has just the one defeat to Joshua on his resume.
The 27-year-old has never been dropped or stopped in 25 professional fights, but that is not something Whyte is concerned about. His last fight ended in a convincing knockout of the heavy-hitting Lucas Browne.

And the ‘Body Snatcher’ has urged fans to tune into talkSPORT for a similar outcome on Saturday night.
“It’s gonna be a great fight, there’s all the top guys fighting,” he added.
“He’s never been stopped before and I will be trying to stop him.”
