‘HE’S A WARRIOR’

Floyd Mayweather has his say on Conor McGregor v Khabib Nurmagomedov, offers Conor place to train

The retired legendary boxer has given his opinion on his former foe’s upcoming bout

Floyd Mayweather has offered Conor McGregor the chance to train at his gym in Las Vegas ahead of the Khabib Nurmagomedov fight.

The retired, 50-0 boxer was speaking on the one-year anniversary of his own bout with McGregor, which was the last time that we saw the Irishman engage in combat.

He is now set to return to the Octagon on October 6 in a fight which may well prove to be the toughest of his MMA career, against Nurmagomedov.

When asked if he will attend the bout, Mayweather told : “They’re fighting in Vegas, I’ll talk with Dana, I may talk with Conor and get some tickets.

“But leading up to the fight I know that UFC have got a training facility, but we'd like for him to work out at the Mayweather Boxing Club.”

The American stopped McGregor in the tenth round when they met in a crossover boxing bout last year.

Despite a build-up which contained plenty of trash talk - and therefore produced plenty of PPV buys - the 41-year-old now holds plenty of respect for his 30-year-old ex-adversary.

“Conor's not gonna back down and he's not a scared fighter at all. Win, lose or draw, Conor’s gonna come to fight,” Mayweather continued.

“I don't really have a prediction because I've never seen the guy fight that's facing Conor McGregor.

“From what I know he's a hell of a guy that's on the ground, hell of a grappler, and he can wrestle.

“But, the fans want to see you stand up and fight. That's what the fans like to see.

“But, Conor McGregor, he's a tough competitor, like I said before Conor McGregor's not gonna back down from anyone, he's not scared, he's a warrior.”
