SMASHING SHOT

Deontay Wilder reportedly ‘breaks man’s jaw’ during TV stunt

If you ask the WBC heavyweight champion to punch you, it likely won’t end well

Deontay Wilder has reportedly broken a man’s jaw during a stunt on a Spanish speaking TV show.

The 32-year-old appeared on Nacion ESPN to promote his December 1 bout with Tyson Fury during their media tour a couple of weeks ago and at the time everything seemed to be just fun and games.

It's never a smart move to ask Deontay Wilder to punch you

The show’s presenters brought out a giant mascot and asked Wilder to KO it to provide a raw demonstration of his famed punching power.

Politely, he obliged, smashing the man in the costume to the ground.

However it is now being reported that he in fact broke the man’s jaw with his punch, despite the padding of the suit, so perhaps it wasn't the smartest idea after all.
