Before Tony Bellew and Oleksandr Usyk walked out, there was a packed undercard at the Manchester Arena.
Here’s what happened, with Anthony Crolla, Ricky Burns and Dave Allen among the Brits in action...
Anthony Crolla wins by unanimous decision
Hometown favourite Crolla beat Daud Yordan on points, with all three judges scoring it 116-112, to take a huge step towards a title fight against Vasyl Lomachenko.
“I had to put a very mature boxing performance in, we knew we were in for 12 hard rounds. Credit to Daud Yordan, he pushed me all the way," Crolla said afterwards.
Ricky Burns knocks out Scott Cardle
Burns breathed fresh life into his career with a highly impressive third round stoppage of Cardle.
The former three-weight world champion was at something of a crossroads having suffered back-to-back defeats to Julius Indongo and Anthony Crolla last year.
But he has now set himself up for another big fight.
Injury ends Sam Hyde's night
The Cheshire fighter suffered a gruesome eye injury, bringing a premature end to his fight with Richard Riakporhe.
The 25-year-old was caught with a ferocious right hand in the cruiserweight clash and with his charge struggling to see, trainer Joe Gallagher threw in the towel in the eighth to call a halt to the fight.
Josh Kelly stars again
Kelly walked through Walter Castillo in one round with an impressive showing.
Eddie Hearn says Kelly will now face David Avanesyan on 8 December in Sheffield.
Dave Allen underprepared for Bracamonte fight
'The White Rhino' absorbed plenty of punishment and was visibly tired but eventually forced his opponent to be pulled out by his corner-men between rounds.
However, despite beating the Argentine, Allen said he "never deserves to see pay-per-view" again. "That was awful. Another wake-up call," he said. "How many do I need?
"No-one is going to out-tough me and out-man me. You're not going to beat me in a dogfight.
"I was [tired] after one round. No excuses. I'm not fit enough. I'm not conditioned enough.
"When you're blessed with the power that I have got, what I'm doing is scandalous."
Dmytro Mytrofanov draws with Gino Kanters
After being knocked down in the first, Mytrofanov came back but didn’t do enough to win on the referee’s scorecard.
A disappointing result for the prospect in this four-rounder.
