The 'Gypsy King' showcased his class, seemingly doing enough despite suffering two knockdowns

Tyson Fury's heavyweight showdown with Deontay Wilder ending controversially in a draw left boxing fans from across the world angry.

The Gypsy King was fancied by very few critics and fans heading into the clash at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

However, Fury produced an almost perfect boxing display - technically confusing his opponent for much of the fight.

The 'Bronze Bomber' is the WBC champion for a reason and despite being well behind on several unofficial scorecards, scored two knockdowns.

The second, in the final round of the fight, appeared to render the 30-year-old unconscious. However, Fury produced tremendous mental fortitude yet again to climb off the canvas and celebrate what he thought was a sensational points win.

But it was not to be on this occasion, with the judges scoring it a split decision - meaning Wilder retained the belt with a draw.

Given his powers of recovery and pugilist perfection, many fans and boxing stars were left disgusted at the result and took to Twitter to complain. Check out the reaction from fans below!
