Anthony Joshua finally speaks out on Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury, praises Brit and calls Shelley Finkel a ‘fool’
AJ has had a fair bit to say following his heavyweight rivals’ LA clash, which ended in a controversial draw
Anthony Joshua has hit back at Deontay Wilder and his team following the American's controversial draw with Tyson Fury on Saturday night.
The unified world champion was a very interested observer as his two main heavyweight foes squared off in LA, producing a stunning fight with a disputed result.
In the aftermath of the bout, both Wilder and Fury had harsh words for AJ, but the 29-year-old took particular exception to one article in which the American’s co-manager Shelly Finkel declared they are still “very interested” in facing him next.
“What took this fool so long?” began Joshua in a social media post responding to the comments.
“Like we ain’t been interested?!!”
Protracted negotiations for a bout between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder collapsed earlier this year, leading the Bronze Bomber to fight Tyson Fury instead.
Many thought Fury ultimately won – despite only recently returning from a two-and-a-half year absence – and it appears this is a view shared by Joshua.
“Anyway, well done Fury,” he continued, “They wanted to get you because they assumed you was finished!!
“I’ll give you a fair one when you’re ready! Either one of you!”

Eddie Hearn echoed Joshua's comments when the promoter said the heavyweight king has no fear about who is put in front of him.
“I have spoken to Joshua since Saturday and his position is unchanged – he believes he will stop anyone put in front of him.”
He also insisted Wilder is the man they want.
“That has always been the fight we want because he has the last belt," Hearn added.
