Warrington vs Frampton: Why Billy Joe Saunders’ comeback fight on undercard will not be shown live on television
The former WBO middleweight champion has not fought since December 2017 and in Manchester will be in the ring to fight Charles Adamu at 5.30pm
Billy Joe Saunders' comeback will be on the non-televised section of the Josh Warrington v Carl Frampton undercard in Manchester.
Saunders is in action for the first time since December 2017 when he comprehensively out pointed David Lemux to retain his WBO middleweight title.
He then twice withdrew from title fights with domestic rival Martin Murray, before a planned title defence against Demetrius Andrade was cancelled when Saunders tested positive for the banned substance oxilofrine in August.
The 29-year-old had been scheduled to face journeyman Zoltan Sera in his tune-up bout, but will now face Charles Adamu instead.
Saunders will be in the ring at approximately 17:30 on Saturday - before the live BT Sport PPV broadcast goes on air at 6pm - and used Twitter to explain the time was scheduled in order for his young fans to watch him without having to stay up too late.
When he stepped onto the scales on Friday, Saunders was a career high 12st 8lb 8oz (178.25lbs), 18 pounds over the middleweight limit of 160lbs.
