Vasyl Lomachenko slams Floyd Mayweather and Gervonta Davis – ‘They’re businessmen, not athletes’
The unified lightweight champion is unimpressed with his rivals’ recent comments

Vasyl Lomachenko has hit out at Gervonta Davis and his promoter Floyd Mayweather in response to their recent comments about a potential fight.
Boxing’s pound-for-pound king has voiced his displeasure with the pair after they expressed no intentions of facing him in the near future during a recent interview.
Mayweather told a media scrum that Davis doesn’t need the bout any time soon as he is just 24, while 31-year-old Loma is “very, very old” and “will be 40 before you know it.”
When asked about these comments on , Lomachenko said: “They are businessmen, they are not athletes; they are making money.
“I am an athlete and I want to fight with the top fighters for history. For my history and for boxing history.”
Floyd Mayweather also pointed out the fact that Gervonta Davis knocked out Jose Pedraza to win his first title in 2017, a fighter Vasyl Lomachenko went the distance with almost two years later.
“It was a much different thing when he [Pedraza] fought Gervonta Davis,” Lomachenko answered.
“He had to lose a lot of weight. He was fighting him at his weight class. I wasn’t at his weight class.
“When Pedraza fought Davis, he went and he fought. He was coming forward. With me, he wasn’t coming. He was running back.”
