With all the talk of unification matchups and Anthony Joshua finally getting his hands on Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder, it seems like he lost sight of Andy Ruiz Jr.
The huge underdog became the first-ever Mexican-American heavyweight champion of the world with a stunning seventh round TKO victory over AJ.

In doing so, he became the IBF, WBO, WBA (Super) and IBO heavyweight champion of the world.
It was the first loss of AJ's career, but the 30-year-old will have chance to regain his belts in November or December according to his promoter, Eddie Hearn.
The last undisputed world champion, Lennox Lewis, also suffered a setback like this back in 2001 when he was knocked out by underdog Hasim Rahman.
Lewis would regain his titles with a KO victory seven months later, so he was supremely qualified to give his opinion following AJ's loss:

Considering this was meant to be Joshua's U.S. bow for his brand, it couldn't have gone much worse.
Not only did Ruiz make history, but he did so on only four weeks notice.
Still, the true test of Joshua lies in how he will bounce back from this defeat and if he is able to win back the titles that would punch his ticket to those dream matchups.
