David Haye EXCLUSIVE: Dillian Whyte deserves world title shot, we want to make Derek Chisora vs Joseph Parker
The ‘Hayemaker’ believes the ‘Body Snatcher’ should get a crack at one of the belts

David Haye is adamant that Dillian Whyte deserves to fight for a heavyweight world title.
A former champion turned promoter/manager himself, the 38-year-old knows all about the boxing business including its various pitfalls in the quest to reach the very top.
As things stand, Whyte is on the verge of challenging the elite, though is yet to be guaranteed a mandatory position – something he is currently campaigning for with the WBC.
“It’s pretty usual, in the heavyweight division particularly, that things that don’t seem to make much sense happen,” Haye told talkSPORT’s James Savundra when asked for his thoughts on the situation.
“Dillian, you can only feel for him, he’s beaten every man that’s been put in front of him.
“He’s taken tough fight, after tough fight, after tough fight. And he’s produced the goods on every occasion.
“If there’s anybody on the planet who deserves that title shot, it’s him.
“And I hope he does get his well deserved title shot.
“Dillian can only focus on the guy that’s in front of him and he’s actually got a very tough fight himself, fighting as the main event.
“A Colombian guy, Oscar Rivas, who’s very explosive, very fast, a big puncher, and I think it’s a 50/50 fight.”
Haye dealt with Whyte closely during the build-up to his last fight, as he was representing the ‘Body Snatcher’s’ opponent, Derek Chisora.
The pair are still doing business together ahead of Chisora’s fight against Artur Szpilka on Whyte’s July 20 undercard, and are already plotting big moves for the Finchley man later this year.
“I like the Joseph Parker fight,” Haye continued, “He’s a young guy who’s a former heavyweight champion.
“He has two losses on his record. If there was another couple of rounds in that fight against Dillian Whyte, many people think he could’ve got the victory.
“But he’s a guy who’s re-established himself now and he’s got a nice string of victories.
“I saw him out in Las Vegas when Tyson Fury beat Tom Schwarz and he said to me, ‘What’s happening with Derek? Let’s make it happen.’
“I was like, ‘You worry about winning your fight, and we’ll worry about beating Szpilka, and after that we’ll sit down.’
“That’s a fight that can be made, we’re working with Matchroom as well, it’s a very easy fight to make.”
