Boxing news: David Price reacts to getting ‘biggest fight of career’ against Derek Chisora, wants Tyson Fury or title shot next

David Price has exclusively told talkSPORT that he would like to fight Tyson Fury or secure a world title shot, should he come through Derek Chisora on October 26.
It was announced on Tuesday that the Scouse heavyweight has stepped in to face Chisora after original opponent Joseph Parker pulled out due to illness.
Speaking for the first time since official confirmation came, Price told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast: “It is great news, I’ve been in the gym all summer because expected something like this to come along.
“I actually said to the lads a couple of weeks ago – I was scheduled to fight in Liverpool on November 23 – and I did say, ‘I don’t think I’m gonna fight on this show, I’ve just got a feeling something else is gonna happen.’
“And then Parker pulled out. We got the fight done and it’s the biggest fight of my career by far and I’m going in there to give it everything I can and walk away with all the marbles.”
Back in 2013, Price was being built up as a highly-touted heavyweight prospect before being derailed by two stoppage defeats to Tony Thompson.
Since then, his career has been a mishmash of rebuilding fights and further knockout losses to the likes of Christian Hammer, Alexander Povetkin and Sergey Kuzmin.
Now however, he is one win away from being back among the big fights and said: “I think I could get a title shot off the back of this without a doubt.

“Derek’s a top level heavyweight and, if I can get the win in this fight, then I don’t think many people would begrudge me getting a title shot of some kind or maybe a big fight against maybe Tyson Fury or whoever.
“I’d definitely be knocking on the door for a massive, massive fight I think.”
