Do Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder sit among boxing’s reported rich list with the likes of Anthony Joshua, Floyd Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez?

Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder are set to go head-to-head again next weekend with more than just the WBC heavyweight crown up for grabs.

As is the way with elite level boxing these days, the topic of cash is often a focus in superstar fights.

Fury and Wilder are set to pocket in excess of £15million each for their Las Vegas rematch and the winner will be set for more major paydays later in 2020.

However, neither fighter is yet at the level of boxing’s top earners.

The Sun recently estimated the sport’s rich list, compiled using figures from websites such as , and legendary undefeated superstar Floyd Mayweather comes out on top having made a staggering £435m.

But who else makes the top ten?

Frank Warren explains why Tyson Fury has the edge over Deontay Wilder in rematch

10. Wladimir Klitschko - £47m

A man who shared the ring with Anthony Joshua in an epic eleven-round clash at Wembley in 2017, Klitschko reigned supreme in the heavyweight division for nearly a decade.

Sponsorships deals with Hugo Boss and several German companies push the Ukrainian into this top 10.

9. Anthony Joshua - £53m

Joshua won the biggest fight of his career last year when he reclaimed his heavyweights titles in a rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr.

As well as earning from his exploits in the ring, the 30-year-old has sponsorship deals with the likes of Lucozade, Beats by Dre and Under Armour.

8. Vitali Klitschko - £62m

Currently Mayor of Kiev and head of the Kiev City State Administration, Vitali is the elder of the Klitschko brothers.

He was a dominant force in his own right during a career in which he was never knocked down or out, before retiring in 2012.

7. Canelo Alvarez - £73m

Considered by many to be boxing's poster boy, Canelo signed an 'historic' contract after agreeing a $365m deal with streaming service DAZN last year.

He has lost just once in 56 fights and claimed WBO light heavyweight glory against Sergey Kovalev last time out.

6. Sugar Ray Leonard - £93m

One of the best and most popular boxers of all time, Leonard competed from 1977 to 1997 and is now a motivational speaker.

He has been on major US TV shows such as Dancing With The Stars and The Contender.

5. Lennox Lewis - £109m

Britain's greatest ever boxer, Lewis remains the last heavyweight to hold the undisputed title and saw off every challenge in his legendary career.

It was reported that he made $18m from his fight with Mike Tyson and $7m from beating Vitali Klitschko.

4. Manny Pacquiao - £148m

A huge part of the eight-weight world champion's earnings come from the 'Fight of the Century' with Mayweather, in which 'Pac-Man' is said to have earned $100m.

3. Oscar De La Hoya - £155m

'Golden Boy' generated hundreds of millions in pay-per-view income and was a star in the sport for much of the 1990's and early 2000's.

It's claimed that he made $52m from his loss to Mayweather in 2007 and now runs his own promotional firm, Golden Boy Promotions, who represent Canelo.

2. George Foreman - £233m

The oldest heavyweight champion ever, Foreman has made much of his fortune from selling the naming rights to the George Foreman grill for a reported $138m in 1999.

1. Floyd Mayweather - £435m

Consistently named the highest paid athlete even in retirement, Mayweather has made a huge sum of money during his 50-0 career and even more impressively without the same level of sponsors as other names on this list.

Mayweather Promotions allowed all revenue to go through the fighter himself as he landed mega paydays against Pacquiao and Conor McGregor.
