Jorge Masvidal warns Canelo he punches ‘like a f****** truck’ as he talks up possible money fight, though Dana White hates Oscar De La Hoya

Jorge Masvidal warned Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez of his punching power as he talked up a potential boxing bout.
The Cuban-American is still basking in the glory of his memorable weekend where he was the crowned the inaugural UFC BMF champion by defeating Nate Diaz.
Masvidal completed a dream 2019, recording his third stoppage victory in succession after wins over Darren Till and Ben Askren.
In fact, the main event of UFC 244 was shown live in the MGM Grand before Canelo defeated Sergey Kovalev to win the WBO light-heavyweight championship. But the disparity in pay is frightening, with the boxer pocketing $35million as opposed to the $500,000 Masvidal earned.
Speaking on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show on Monday, the 34-year-old BMF title holder confirmed his desire to take on the four-weight champion at his own game.
“I’m dead serious about trying to fight Canelo Alvarez,’ said Masvidal. “Give me a nice little change; I’ll take my talents over there. I’m going for the off button, I feel like I can shock the world.
“Is Canelo a better boxer than me? Has he thrown 10,000 jabs more than me because that’s what he does morning and night? Yeah, he’s a better boxer.
“But can I bring some elements that boxers ain’t used to that are in the legal realm of boxing and throw Canelo completely off his game? F*** yes, man.
“I’m a naturally bigger dude. I punch like a f*****g truck. If I got boxing gloves on, I’m not afraid of breaking my hand because I got that cast on so I’ll be swinging extra harder.
“I feel like I could be a legitimate threat in there.”
The chances of the two ever meeting are extremely slim, not just because they compete in different sports, but because Masvidal has a host of options.
Given he is one of the hottest fighters in the UFC at the moment, a welterweight title shot beckons after Colby Covington takes on Kamaru Usman and Conor McGregor has also laid down the gauntlet.
But, perhaps more importantly, UFC President Dana White absolutely despises the head of Golden Boy Promotions, Oscar de la Hoya.
After the BMF title fight was shown at the MGM Grand, White then took aim at his long-standing rival for his decision to schedule the fights on the same night.
“You guys know how I am, I f****** hate Oscar De La Hoya, he’s a scumbag, a snake," White said at the UFC 244 post-fight press conference. "I told him not to go on this night.
“He did what he wanted to do and here we are. I respect Canelo and all the other fighters and guys who participate in the sport of boxing, and we got it worked out yesterday to where fans could see the other fights," adding his belief that the decision to show the main event in Las Vegas had nothing to do with De La Hoya.
"You think that idiot did that? He did none of that. It was much smarter people that surround him that started to do stuff, it wasn’t that moron.
“He’s an a****** . How much more can I prove myself that this guy is an a****** and a complete f*** up?
"Right up to this fight, everything he’s done," he continued. "I used to help this guy, promote his fights, go on social media and say I’m watching.
“Then we did [Conor] McGregor [vs. Floyd] Mayweather, he tells people not to watch. Who does that? He says it’s a disgrace to boxing.
“Then he says he wants to fight McGregor next. He’s a snake, an all-round bad guy. He’s really f****** weird too. Just to top it off.”
