Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez aims to replicate Anthony Joshua as he targets fights in Saudi Arabia, Japan and England

Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez has opened the door to potential world title fights across the globe, including on these shores.
The four-weight world champion is currently waiting to make his next move after adding the WBO light-heavyweight belt to his burgeoning collection last month.
Although it is unlikely the career middleweight will stay at 175lbs, there are opportunities at home and abroad for the Mexican pound-for-pound star.
Fights with Callum Smith and Billy Joe Saunders have been mooted, while a rubber match with Gennady Golovkin is also on the cards.
However, speaking from ringside at the Andy Ruiz Jr rematch with Anthony Joshua, Canelo refused to rule out filling his passport with blockbuster fights across the globe.
This is understandable considering 'AJ' earned a huge sum by regaining his world heavyweight titles in Saudi Arabia.
“Of course, why not,” Alvarez said during an interview with DAZN about fighting in new locations. “It’s an excellent opportunity. Of course I can see myself fighting anywhere in the world.
“I can see myself fighting here [in Saudi Arabia], fighting in Japan, in England. Believe me, this is something.
“What a moment it would be for my career to fight anywhere in the world for the right opportunity.”
After narrowly defeating John Ryder in his home city of Liverpool, no.1 ranked super-middleweight Smith challenged promoter Eddie Hearn to arrange a 2020 bout with the 56-1 Canelo.
The WBA champion said: "There's a lot of top fighters in my division and if he [Hearn] can secure one of them, I'll be happy.”
However, the 29-year-old from Guadalajara refused to commit to naming his next opponent just yet.
“I’m just enjoying my time off,” he added. “I’ve been on vacation and it’s very important for me to be here and enjoy the fight.
“It’s also very important to for me to choose the best possible opponent for my next fight. For now, I’m just enjoying my vacation and my time off.”
