The champion was always adamant he didn't train properly for the first bout, hence why he was put down and Groves seized control early on.
But he made sure the second fight was different and even told his opponent this on the day before their fight.
Froch explained on his : "I went into that rematch weigh-in full of confidence, but I had to let him know. I had to tell him.
"So I said, 'Listen to me George, that first fight I was not fit. You know for a fact you did not fight me 100 per cent.
"'Guess what, I've had a 12-week camp, I am absolutely firing on all cylinders, I feel f***ing great, you are getting smashed to bits tomorrow night.'
"Sorry for this language, but this is what I said to him at the weigh-in: 'All your bulls*** talk and all the nonsense on the build-up to this fight, you're getting absolutely smashed to bits.
"'You cannot live with me, I am 100 per cent, you're getting f***ing smashed.
"'Enjoy this while you can because it's over for you.'
"And there was belief in what I was saying. He was looking in my eyes shaking his head and trying to counterbalance it.
"But I got my point across to him, looked him in the eye and told him what I was gonna do to him.
"And I think he believed me. I think he thought, 'Actually, he has had a 12-week camp, he didn't have that before. Actually he did beat me in the first fight, even though the ref saved me from getting absolutely flattened, he still won.'
"So, he must've not enjoyed that weigh-in for the rematch. He must've thought, 'Froch is here, he's back and he means business.' Because I told him."
