Floyd Mayweather’s 50-0 record officially surpassed as little-known champion retires at 54-0

Floyd Mayweather's staggering 50-0 boxing record has been outdone, at least in numerical terms, by Thailand's Wanheng Menayothin.
The WBC minimumweight champion announced his retirement from the sport on Sunday with an unbeaten career ending at 54-0.
When he quit boxing in 2017, many made note of the fact Mayweather had surpassed legendary heavyweight champion Rocky Marciano.
Marciano retired at 49-0 back in 1955 and it took 62 years for a champion to out-do his numerical achievement as they left the sport.
However, it's taken just three more years for someone to top Floyd.
The 105lbs (7st 7lbs) champion made it to 51-0 back in August 2018, but so long as he was still fighting there was still a chance he could lose.
Now, aged 34, he's announced: "I have decided that it's good to stop boxing.
"I know how I am. No one knows my body as much as I do. I stop boxing like this.
"Everyone needs money. But I would like to heal my body.
"Congratulations to all who support me. Thank you for all the strength that you have always given me."
Ultimately the American's career will go down in history above the little-known Thai's due to the standard of opposition faced and multiple weight classes conquered.
Nevertheless, Wanheng holds his own little piece of history. Thailand's 'TBE.'
