Weighing less ‘could be’ key to victory for Anthony Joshua against Tyson Fury, says Conor Benn, who brands Daniel Dubois an ‘animal’
Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua will have the entirety of the UK captivated if it comes to fruition next year.
The British boxing super fight is already a major talking point across the country with multiple different theories being debated on how the potential clash could play out.
From a fighter's perspective, Conor Benn has raised his own theory.
He told marvelbet369.com this week: "That's a hard one for me; I'm a fan of both, I really like both. It's a legacy fight.
"I think it depends on what weight AJ comes in at, it depends what sort of fighter he is, I believe.
"I think if he comes in light, I think his feet could be quick enough to work Fury to the body.
"Then again, Fury's some man and he finds a way to win."
Benn will be working as part of talkSPORT's radio commentary team for our live coverage of Daniel Dubois vs Ricardo Snijders on Saturday night.
Assessing his fellow young contender, he said: "Daniel Dubois is an animal, he's one of a kind.
"He doesn't have to say much, he does the talking in the ring.
"So when he gets in there he's down to business.
"You know when you look at him, he ain't thinking about nothing but putting you face down on the deck.
"That's the sort of fighter I like, that's my sort of fighter.
"He ain't loud, he don't talk, he just goes in there and takes care of business.
"I'm really excited for him and Joyce. Obviously you can't overlook any opponent in the heavyweight division, look at Whyte vs Povetkin.
"Whyte was in control, he was in charge of the fight and then bang, one shot and that's all it takes in the heavyweight division, that's the heavyweight game for you.
"I know the feeling. I've hit the deck hard before, put down twice in the first round.
"So I know exactly how that feels, but obviously Povetkin's a good operator, a dangerous operator.
"And everyone was writing Povetkin off, I was thinking, 'He gave AJ a tough run for his money while it lasted, so he's no mug.'
"He's a seasoned pro, only lost twice in his career - Klitschko and AJ - so a lot of people were sleeping on him.
"I think Whyte maybe switched off after putting him down and thought, 'I've got this in the bag'. And then Povetkin come out strong."
