In his next fight, the three-weight world champion faces rising star, Teofimo Lopez, to unify the IBF, WBA and WBO lightweight titles.

Many consider Loma to already be the number one fighter in the world. Yes, he's only had 14 professional bouts, but the Ukrainian has two Olympic gold medals and an amateur record which reads 396-1.

He makes it look effortless and a lot of credit must go to 23-year-old Lopez for having the belief that he will succeed where so many have failed.

Here, marvelbet369.com looks at what makes Lomachenko so good, according to boxing legends, as well as those who have shared a ring with him.

Mike Tyson: Former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world

“I think the best fighter in the world right now is a guy from the Ukraine called Lomachenko. He always does really well - Lomachenko is nice to watch."

Tony Bellew: Former cruiserweight champion

“Lopez and Terence Crawford are the only fighters with a chance to beat Vasyl Lomachenko. The only way Teofimo can beat him is to dictate the pace.

“I think he is the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. I think he is the best defensive and offensive fighter I have seen since Roy Jones Jr and I think a prime Roy Jones Jr is the greatest fighter who ever graced the sport.

“Lomachenko does things that you just cannot explain and he is doing them to world class fighters."

“He’s the greatest technical fighter I’ve seen since the vintage Muhammad Ali.

"There’s no fighter we have seen that compares in technical ability to Lomachenko. Nobody. He's in a class of his own."

Tyson Fury: WBC heavyweight champion

"I want Lomachenko to move up to heavyweight.

";Everyone is struggling with him at the moment.

“Someone asked me ‘how do you beat Lomachenko’ and I reckon moving up to heavyweight and fighting me might be the only way."

Anthony Crolla: Former WBA lightweight champion who lost to Lomachenko in 2019

“I have never been tasered but I imagine the shot that he beat me with feels something like that.

“He caught me with a great shot, he hits harder than expected, it must be like what it is like to be tasered."

David Haye: Former two-weight champion

“I have never seen anyone avoid punches and then counter them or switch stance like he does.

"He does some amazing things that leave me wondering ‘how did you do that?’."

Floyd Mayweather: Multiple division champion with a 50-0 record

"Lomachenko is a great fighter and I like the guy.

"I can't take anything away from Lomachenko, he's done what he had to do."

Eddie Hearn: Matchroom Boxing promoter

“I think probably Lomachenko [is the best pound for pound fighter in boxing]. I rate Crawford highly as well. I think Lomachenko probably skill wise [is the top man]. [I also rate] Golovkin, who had a very good performance against Canelo.”

Anthony Joshua: Current WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF heavyweight champion

"I was watching a Lomachenko documentary where he does this thing, it’s like mind control, where he puts his head under the water for a certain amount of time.

“His maximum was something like four minutes and 30 seconds without coming up for air. Four minutes!

“It’s just amazing - mind control. My maximum is about 30 seconds!"
