Tyson vs Jones Jr rules: Knockouts ARE allowed, but fight will have shortened rounds, 12-ounce gloves and no ‘official’ winner

The exhibition fight between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr is about to get under way and the rules for the clash have been revealed.
While the meeting of two retired legends has certainly got the world talking, it won’t be a normal bout with some different rules in place for the ageing duo.
With both fighters over 50 years old, the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) has placed a set of rules on the bout including that it will be held over eight, two-minute rounds.
The former champions both snubbed the option to wear headguards so CSAC stated that a total fight-time of 16 minutes must be adhered to considering their age.
The fighters will also be wearing larger 12-ounce gloves in the hope of minimising damage done.
CSAC executive director Andy Foster has said they will stop the contest if a cut appears on either fighter and neither man should be going for a knockout.
However, Triller - the social media channel who are promoting the fight - have put out a statement insisting that KOs are allowed.
The CSAC will also not have any judges present, but the WBC will have Christy Martin, Vinny Pazienza, and Chad Dawson scoring the bout.
This trio of former WBC champions will not be ringside and will judge remotely in an unofficial capacity.
A special ‘Frontline Battle Belt’ with the inscription ‘Black Lives Matter’ will be given to the winner, but the result will not go down on either man's professional record.
The undercard will involve several regular fights under regular rules.
Youtuber Jack Paul will take on ex-NBA star Nate Robinson while former two-weight world champion Badou Jack will also be in action.
