Joe Joyce sends classy message to Daniel Dubois as ‘Dynamite’ is taken to hospital for gruesome eye injury

Joe Joyce has backed Daniel Dubois to ‘come again’ after he beat his British rival with a convincing victory on Saturday night.
‘The Juggernaut’ moved to 12-0 and clinched the British, European and Commonwealth heavyweight titles with a tenth round stoppage at the Church House in Westminster.
Although the likes of Carl Frampton, David Haye and Dillian Whyte accused the 23-year-old of ‘quitting’ on Saturday night, his eye began to swell incredibly and he was taken to hospital.
Given Joyce has a wealth of amateur experience, including an Olympic Silver medal, it is unsurprising to see how he exerted himself in the ring.
His jab rammed continuously into the left eye of Dubois and began to close ominously before swelling completely shut.
The decision to take a knee was certainly met with derision from some quarters, but Joyce had nothing but kind words for his fallen foe.
“Respect to Daniel Dubois,” he wrote. “He will come again. “Tonight is my night!”
Although it seems Dubois will need to rebuild his career after such a debilitating defeat, the future looks bright for Joyce.
With former amateur foe Oleksandr Usyk now also in the professional heavyweight ranks, a WBO title shot could be on the horizon.
With Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury potentially in line to fight, the Ukrainian could force his mandatory status and make AJ vacate the belt – leaving the path clear for he and Joyce to resume rivalries.
