US Army veteran Blake McKernan suffers horrible injury on Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr undercard in lopsided loss to Badou Jack

Badou Jack cruised to victory on the Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr undercard with a convincing performance against Blake McKernan on Saturday night.
While the performance itself was rudimentary from ‘The Ripper’, the bravery shown by McKernan was truly admirable.
The 33-year-old, who came into the fight with a 13-fight winning streak, was left with a sickening hematoma on the left side of his face.
McKernan was a former machine gunner in the US Army and is an Iraq veteran, meaning his toughness was never in doubt.
But the Sacramento-native was perhaps too brave for his own good as he was picked off at will by the former two-weight world champion.
Jack kept a solid pace throughout the eight rounds and peppered the body of his much less experienced foe. By the time the seventh and eighth round came along, McKernan was in survival mode.
Thankfully, he managed to see the final bell and received a medal from WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman, perhaps for his bravery as opposed to his performance.
Jack, who faced the likes of George Groves, James DeGale and Nathan Cleverly in the past, is hoping to reclaim a world title once again at the age of 37.
