Tyson Fury's dad, John Fury, insists Daniel Dubois did 'the right thing' by taking a knee in his defeat to Joe Joyce last weekend.

The youngster is now confirmed to have suffered an orbital fracture, hence his decision to sit out the referee's count in the tenth round of his heavyweight showdown with fellow Brit Joyce.

The fight began with some closely contested rounds in which both men had their moments.

Dubois appeared to hurt Joyce on occasion, but was often kept at bay by the more experienced man’s jab.

This ‘Juggernaut’ jab ultimately caused severe injury to Dubois and forced his left eye to swell shut by the halfway stage.

In round ten, it all got too much for the 23-year-old who took a knee and sat out the ten count.

"It's only a boxing match. He's not gonna lose his eye over a boxing match, is he?

"I think he's done the right thing.

"Joe Joyce is a gigantic man and he was hitting hard with the jab.

"Who knows? It could be a career-threatening injury.

"You're not gonna lose your career over a boxing match, are you?"

Regarding what's next for Joyce, Fury added: "I think Joyce can go all the way and fight for any of the world titles, and probably win one.

"He's a big, strong, juggernaut. A big, strong guy.

";Good luck to Joe Joyce, perfect game plan. I said it would come down to game plans. In the end his was the victor in a very good fight.

"An edge of your seat fight and I enjoyed it immeasurably. Props to Dubois and Joyce for taking the fight.

"Young Dubois will come again, he's got an experienced team around him and good luck to him, he gave me a good night. The kid will come again."

When asked if he could fight his son Tyson for the WBC title in future, John answered: "Probably, yeah, why not? He's capable, he's capable.

"He'll probably get his head boxed off, but he's capable."
