Anthony Joshua thinks Man United legend Roy Keane would make a great boxer, with Diego Maradona, Wayne Rooney and Phil Foden also tipped, while Ricky Hatton says Zabaleta is tough

Which footballers could cut it in the ring?
It's what some of the biggest names in boxing were asked and Anthony Joshua sees Man United legends Roy Keane and Eric Cantona as being a bit handy.
Joshua, regarded as one of the world’s best boxers, is the current WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion said he'd back the former Old Trafford duo judging from what he saw from them on the pitch.
Meanwhile, former world champions David Haye and Ricky Hatton - both now retired - opted for Diego Maradona and Pablo Zabaleta respectively.
In fact, Haye backed Maradona for world domination because of how tough he was on the pitch and Man City fan Hatton knows all about Zabaleta from his time at the club.
Amir Khan went for Manchester United and England legend Wayne Rooney, who famously performed a knockout celebration after scoring against Tottenham in 2015.
In the build up to the game, a video was released appearing to show Burnley defender Phil Bardsley knock Rooney out in an impromptu kitchen sparring session.
And Luke Campbell, who fights Ryan Garcia for the vacant WBC interim lightweight title next month, had a surprise choice in Phil Foden.
Anthony Joshua
“If I was to pick a footballer who could make a great boxer… Roy Keane," he told DAZN.
“Manchester United need someone like him, to get in there and say it how it is, doesn’t take any nonsense.
“In boxing, that’s the type of person you need to have.
“Eric Cantona, come in, shirt up, he had the aura of a champion.”
David Haye
"Maradona. The amount of people who used to hack at his legs. He kind of reminded me of Roberto Duran.
“He had that same sort of energy. He had that greatness, that craziness, and I definitely think if he’d have done boxing he would have been a world champion for sure."
Ricky Hatton
“Pablo Zabaleta, who used to play full-back for City, the Argentinian. I wouldn’t like to have fought him myself!”
Amir Khan
“Wayne Rooney. I think he is a tough guy. He looks like a fighter himself.
“He’s one of [those players] who can get stuck in.”
Luke Campbell
“Phil Foden. He’s quite aggressive, he’s fast and I think he’d make a good boxer.”
