Jake Paul has confirmed the $50million offer he sent to Conor McGregor is legitimate and talks are taking place over a potential boxing bout.

The outspoken YouTube sensation claimed his second knockout victory in the professional ranks with a second round stoppage of former NBA player Nate Robinson in November.

In the immediate aftermath, he confirmed he would dedicate his life to beating ‘The Notorious’ in the ring and then sent a crude message to the UFC star on social media.

As well as displaying a large cheque worth $50m, Paul insulted McGregor’s fiancée Dee Devlin and UFC president Dana White.

The 23-year-old also became embroiled in an altercation with Dillon Danis, a teammate for ‘The Notorious’, before fleeing the scene and it appears as though his desire to fight the Irishman is genuine.

“We're talking to his team,” Paul told . “[Conor] looked at my DM on Instagram. But, we're talking to his team.

“When we sent them the proof of funds they like put their tail between their a** … they're like ‘This little crazy kid ain't playing.’”

McGregor perhaps inspired this current trend of celebrity novices turning their hand to boxing when he felt the world of MMA to face Floyd Mayweather in their lucrative 2017 showdown.

However, the 32-year-old is fully focused on becoming a two-time UFC lightweight champion and is preparing for his rematch with Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 on January 23.

If the former two-weight world champion could stop ‘The Diamond’ as he did in devastating fashion during their first meeting in 2014, his quest to recapture the 155lbs title would become much simpler.
