Floyd Mayweather ripped into his old rival Conor McGregor with a stunning social media rant about racism.

In the aftermath of the Irishman's knockout defeat to Dustin Poirier at UFC 257, Mayweather took the opportunity to make a point, referring to his UFC rival as 'Con Artist McLoser'.

McGregor had beaten Poirier inside two minutes in September 2014 and was the overwhelming favourite to do the double in the lightweight bout in a bid to get old foe Nurmagomedov to reverse his retirement.

But Poirier survived some cagey moments in the first round and began to gain the ascendancy with some savage leg kicks in the second before a flurry of punches sent McGregor down to the canvas.

Poirier followed up with a couple of vicious blows on a defenceless McGregor, leading referee Herb Dean to wave off the fight after just two minutes and 32 seconds of the second round.

This has also seemingly killed of chances of a rumoured boxing match between McGregor and Manny Pacquiao in 2021.

Mayweather spotted a post from an Instagram account which read: "Why is Floyd Mayweather hated for the way he carries himself but Conor McGregor is loved for the same way he carries himself?! Let's hear your thoughts!"

He responded: "I seen this post and my take on it is that the world knows Con Artist McLoser can steal everything from me and be loved but I’m hated.

"That just lets you all know that racism still exist.

"Just know, that bum will never be me or be on my level.

"I’m just built different, my mindset is on another planet, my skills are second to none, I’m a natural born winner and yes I talk a lot of trash, but every time I back it up!

"This is what they hate. It’s sad that you can be a poor black kid from the ghetto that has dealt with racism your whole life and work extremely hard to put yourself and your family in a better position, and most of the hate come from my own people.

"Conor cannot even win in his own sport, but talking about coming back to boxing to fight Pacquiao.

"Nobody wants to see that, it's like my leftovers eating leftovers."

McGregor acknowledged it's unlikely he will face eight-weight boxing champion Pacquiao anytime soon and will instead ‘regroup’ before making any decision on his next move - thought to be a trilogy with either Poirier or Nate Diaz.

Pacquiao is now being lined up boxing’s rising star Ryan Garcia.

After his big win over Luke Campbell at the start of the month, Garcia demanded a showdown with fellow top talent Gervonta Davis.

However, he’s since suggested he could have a bigger fight in the pipeline.

And in an exclusive chat with Fight Night on talkSPORT, he heaped praise on the legend.

“I’m trying to be a good example as a champion to this younger generation.

“I think that’s been missing a long time, other than Manny Pacquiao as a great example.

“Once you get to the top, people like to forget how they got there and they don’t share their stories and they don’t give glory to God.

“I will stay true to myself and try to be the best example I can be for the younger generation.”
