Manny Pacquiao has revealed that he's told Bob Arum he wants $40million to fight Terence Crawford next.

The legendary Filipino eight-weight world champion last week stated that he was back in training and preparing to return to the ring.

He has been heavily linked to a bout with Ryan Garcia, though Garcia's promoter Oscar De La Hoya played down this speculation over the weekend.

Meanwhile Crawford's promoter Bob Arum talked up the possibility of his man finally getting the big fight he craves.

Regarding America's WBO welterweight champion, Pacquiao told the Filipino : "I like to fight somebody who has a title.

"We told Bob I get $40million and Crawford gets $10million."

"I will fight anybody. You know me, I don’t back away from any challenge. Bring ‘em on!"

While the purse demands seem exorbitant, Arum has previously stated that any possible Crawford vs Pacquiao bout would have to take place in the Middle East.

If a gigantic site fee can be secured from a nation, then these numbers may suddenly become closer to reality.

At the end of last month, Pacquiao was removed from world champion status, opening up a likely unification fight for Errol Spence.

The 42-year-old defeated Keith Thurman to claim the legitimate WBA welterweight world title in July 2019, but has not fought since.

As a result, the WBA decided to make Pacquiao ‘champion in recess’ at welterweight.

Because of the ridiculous situation the WBA have with their titles, this has freed up their main belt at 147lbs.

The WBA ‘super’ title, which Pacquiao held, has now been awarded to Cuba’s Yordenis Ugas.

Ugas previously held the WBA ‘regular’ welterweight belt, which many fans refuse to recognise as a legitimate world championship.

The other boxing sanctioning bodies do not allow unifications with the WBA ‘regular’ belt, but now Ugas has been upgraded to WBA ‘super’ champion.

This means that Spence will likely fight him in a unification next.

The American already owns two of the four welterweight world titles – the WBC and IBF – and now has an opportunity to pick up a third.

Spence and Ugas are guided by the same advisor, Al Haymon, which should make this fight easy to make.
