Adrien Broner returned to the ring with a unanimous decision win over Jovanie Santiago on Saturday night in Connecticut.

However, it wouldn't have been a Broner fight without some form of controversy involved.

The former four-weight champion started slowly in the bout before coming on strong in the later rounds.

At the final bell he was significantly outlanded - 207 punches from Santiago, 98 punches from Broner - according to ShoStats.

Regardless, the judges awarded him a unanimous decision win with scores of 117-110, 116-111, 115-112.

But Showtime's unofficial judge Steve Farhood, like many on social media, saw the fight differently and he scored it 115-114 in favour of Santiago.

Broner reacted in his post-fight interview: "I knew the motherf***er was gonna be tough because he's 14-0.

"And anybody with that 0 wanna keep that 0, so they're gonna fight like a bum fighting for a sandwich.

"He was fighting to keep that 0, so I knew he was gonna be tough, but I came in and I got the job done.

"And when I came up here I seen that Farhood had me losing.

"See, that's why I don't f*** with him."

When asked about fans on social media who also felt he lost, Broner blasted: “If you look at my Twitter, 98 per cent of them don’t like me.

"So f*** Twitter and f*** Steve Farhood.”
