Manny Pacquiao vs Terence Crawford could be the next fight to take place overseas for big money, after Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury.

This is according to promoter Bob Arum - who represents both Crawford and Fury.

Arum has been working with Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren on the biggest bout in British boxing history for several months now and is close to finalising a deal.

Once contracts are signed for the contest, their idea is to then work on a site deal and effectively sell the contest to the highest bidder in the Far East or Middle East.

Countries such as Dubai, Bahrain, Qatar, Singapore and China have rumoured interest, as well as Saudi Arabia who hosted AJ's rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr back in 2019.

Arum, who's struggled to secure premier opponents for his welterweight champion, also now has renewed hope that Pacquiao vs Crawford can be made on the same basis.

He told : "Kenny Porter came to our office two weeks ago to talk about a Crawford vs Shawn Porter fight.

"And then out of nowhere the idea of a tremendous site fee, the possibility of doing Pacquiao vs Crawford came up.

"Obviously it's more money for Terence and Terence would prefer a Pacquiao fight against anybody else.

"We're gonna see what happens, and we'll know this week whether Pacquiao vs Crawford can actually happen.

"If it doesn't happen, since Errol Spence clearly doesn't wanna fight Crawford, I think Crawford vs Porter would be a tremendous fight."

Last week, Pacquiao hinted that such talks were taking place.

He told the Filipino : “I like to fight somebody who has a title.

“We told Bob I get $40million and Crawford gets $10million.”

“I will fight anybody. You know me, I don’t back away from any challenge. Bring ‘em on!”
