James DeGale has backed Carl Froch to beat George Groves – but has warned the Cobra not to expect an easy fight.

James DeGale has backed Carl Froch to beat George Groves - but has warned the Cobra not to expect an easy fight.

The pair face each other in Manchester on November 23 with the Nottingham born boxer putting both his WBA and IBF super-middleweight titles on the line.

And DeGale, who was beaten by Groves in 2011, believes Froch will have too much for the 25-year-old.

“I think Froch will win, late on,” he told Hawksbee and Jacobs. “It’s going to be very competitive for eight rounds though.

“Movement and speed trouble Froch and Groves delivers that, but he can’t do that for the whole fight. Froch will get him late on.”
