Anderson Silva beats Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and Jake Paul wants him on Tyron Woodley undercard as UFC legend congratulated by boxing legend Canelo Alvarez

Anderson Silva pulled off a surprise victory over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr when the two clashed in the boxing ring, and Jake Paul appears to have plans for the UFC legend.
Silva, 46, won by split decision in the Mexico bout after crossing over to the boxing world to take on the son of Mexican great Julio Cesar Chavez and add to the list of bizarre recent results having lost four of his last six fights.
Cesar Chavez Jr was beaten by Canelo Alvarez in 2017, and his career has been on the steady decline since. The 35-year-old had been fined $100,000 for failing to make weight and then went on to lose by split decision.
His father was watching on from ringside and he has been vocal about his son in recent years, especially after he oddly withdrew during his fight against Daniel Jacobs and then lost unknown contender Mario Abel Cazares in a homecoming to Mexico.
Silva was up against a vastly more experienced boxer, who was in his 60th fight, but bloodied his opponent in their eight round clash and there were suggestions it could have been a bigger win.
The Spider, who is one of the greatest UFC champions of all time, was then congratulated by Cancelo Alvarez after the fight.
It was an impressive fight by the veteran MMA star and before his bout he said he would be opening to fighting Jake or Logan Paul.
Speaking to , Silva said 'everything's possible' when asked about facing either YouTuber turned boxer.
"The Paul brothers, I respect both," he added.
After the fight, Jake Paul wrote on Twitter: "Respect to Anderson Silva on the win….vc é uma lenda brasileira! Would be an honor to have him vs Roy Jones Jr on the same card as Tyron and I."
Asked how the crossover win compares to his accomplishments in the ring, he said it was difficult to.
“This is completely different," he said. "You can’t compare. You come to Mexico, it’s a traditional sport here. You’re doing a big show for the whole Mexican people. I’m emotional right now. It’s completely different. I can’t compare.”
