Anthony Joshua insists he wants to fight Tyson Fury in 2021 once they have dealt with Deontay Wilder and Oleksandr Usyk – but blames ‘Gypsy King’ for collapse of undisputed fight

Anthony Joshua is adamant Tyson Fury and his team are to blame for their undisputed heavyweight world title clash falling apart.

However, the Olympic champion is adamant the fight can still be made later this year after both men deal with their respective opponents.

A US arbitrator ruled Fury had to fight Deontay Wilder for a third time to honour the contract he signed before their rematch in February 2020.

It effectively scrapped the all-British clash between Fury and Joshua at the final hurdle, with an event booked in for August 14 in Saudi Arabia.

Fury will instead fight Wilder on July 24 in Las Vegas, while Joshua will have to deal with WBO mandatory challenger Oleksandr Usyk, with the Tottenham Hotspur stadium in September emerging as a likely venue and date.

Yet ‘AJ’ maintains a fight with Fury is still very much alive and could even take place before the end of the year.

Joshua told  about Fury: "Unfortunately his team let the whole boxing world down."

He said about fighting Fury in the future: "I will still be here, still ready to put on a show.  End of the year. Let me get past Usyk first. But with or without Usyk in my life, I will fight Fury.

"Usyk isn't the be-all and end-all.

"Usyk doesn't determine the Fury fight. The Fury fight has to happen. It's a big fight, bigger than boxing, bigger than the belts.

"It will happen. After the Usyk fight, after I defend my belts.

"The fight will be bigger, better than what it would have been."
