Eddie Hearn says he’s ‘not comfortable’ with vaccine passports and doesn’t expect them to be needed for fans attending Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk

Eddie Hearn has told marvelbet369.com he's 'not a fan' of the proposed use of vaccine passports for fan admission into sporting events.
The Matchroom Boxing promoter is planning two stadium shows in September and, at present, has not been notified of any need to introduce such a system.
First, on September 4, Hearn will stage Josh Warrington's rematch with Mauricio Lara in front of 20,000 fans at Headingley in Leeds.
Then, on September 25, Anthony Joshua defends his heavyweight titles against Oleksandr Usyk at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
When asked if he thinks vaccine passports will be needed to attend these events, Hearn told marvelbet369.com: "No, I don't think so.
"Firstly, I'm not comfortable at all with vaccine passports at any level.
"Certainly not to get into sporting events because anything that's gonna make things more difficult for people to come is a new challenge for our business and I don't feel that it's right.
"Will it be introduced? We just don't know.
"But if it is introduced, it's something we've gotta deal with.
"I don't believe it'll be in play for Warrington or AJ, but beyond that-- I don't think they can enforce it personally.
"But they might say to us, 'We recommend that you only let people who have been double vaccinated.'
"But, for me, I'm not a fan."
It is reportedly being discussed whether vaccine passports could be introduced for seated events with a capacity of 20,000 people and over.
A Government source told the PA news agency: “It’s important that fans can continue to watch sporting events over the autumn, which is why we’re exploring the role vaccines might play in this.
“This will not only allow full capacity stadiums but has the added bonus of incentivising people of all ages to go and get their jab.”
