Pitbull had never been finished in his 17-year career and was undefeated since 2016, yet a huge head kick started the damage before McKee locked in a standing guillotine.

Although Pitbull never officially tapped, referee Mike Beltran called a halt to proceedings to hand McKee the title and Bellator's $1million (£719,155) prize fund after winning the featherweight grand prix.

While McKee boasts just a 33 per cent knockout ratio, he has called out one of the greatest boxers in the history of the sport in the hope of securing a lucrative exhibition bout.

"I would have a lot of respect for him, straight up,"; McKee told

"I'm the best at my sport. He's the best at his sport.

"I would just enjoy sharing that moment with him.

"He's like my dad! I call my dad 'my antique'. If you go hard with my antique in the gym? I will [mess] you up.

"Be careful because if you hurt my antique we've got a problem."

‘Money’ Mayweather ended his professional career with a perfect 50-0 record after a 2017 stoppage win against former UFC champion Conor McGregor, before competing in exhibition bouts against Tenshin Nasukawa and then Logan Paul.

And McKee took umbrage with the involvement of both Logan and brother Jake Paul in the sport of boxing, aiming a thinly-veiled dig at the pair.

"These younger guys who aren't in the sport? They have something to prove," McKee said.

"I don't have anything to prove in boxing against Floyd.

DREAM TEAM IS BACK!

"It's just me wanting to be acknowledged as the best in my sport and sharing a moment with a great from another sport.

"Hopefully it happens one day. He told me that he doesn't fight anymore. I said 'cool'.

"But you never know, man. You never know."
