Tommy Fury beats Anthony Taylor and calls out Jake Paul, but U.S. crowd not impressed with failure to KO and UFC legend Daniel Cormier criticises performance

Tommy Fury collected another victory on the Jake Paul versus Tyron Woodley undercard.
The 22-year-old moved to 7-0 with a unanimous decision victory over Anthony ‘Pretty Boy’ Taylor. All three judges scored the four-round contest 40-36, meaning Fury won every single round.
But, the victory did not come via the ‘big dirty knockout’ Fury had said he wanted.
Although Fury got the result he wanted, the Cleveland, Ohio crowd were not best pleased when the Brit hadn’t dispatched his inferior opponent by the end of the second round.
While Taylor offered nothing but the occasional overhand right, he did prove to be an awkward foe for Fury.
Punching downwards didn’t help Fury display any power, but his searing jab found the mark time and time again on Taylor, but the more MMA-orientated fighter proved a stubborn opponent.
The crowd booing Fury certainly soured the victory, but they received him fairly well after his win was announced.
Ariel Helwani would ask Fury if he wants Jake Paul next and if he had ‘done enough’ to get that fight.
Fury said if he couldn’t knockout his sparring partner, then Paul should think he’s an easy night’s work and they should get it on.
The funny thing is, Paul probably watched that fight and thought he could do well against Fury.
Former double UFC champion Daniel Cormier wasn't overly impressed with what he saw from Fury, either.
"Honest opinion of Tommy Fury. Wasn’t very good! Looks the part, but can tell he is still very raw," he said.
"This performance makes his chances to fight Paul better. He isn’t very scary, maybe he will be but not as of now."
Styles make fights and Paul’s size and style would be much more favourable for Fury.
Either way, Fury moves on to 7-0 and his father John suggested on the BT Sport panel that they will start moving him through gears with regional and national titles in the near future.
