Exclusive – Wilder: ‘Bring on Fury and Chisora – I want to be a boxing legend’

Undefeated American heavyweight Deontay Wilder has told talkSPORT he wants to become a boxing legend, and has issued challenges to British fighters Tyson Fury and Dereck Chisora.
The 6ft 7in giant has won all 30 of his professional fights by knock-out - including a 55-second annihilation of Audley Harrison earlier this year.
His towering height and sheer power has boxing fans thirsty for more high-profile fights, and the 28-year-old insisted he has the passion and drive to become one of the sport’s greats.
“If you don’t want to be champion you’re in the wrong business,” the KO king told The Fight Club.
“I take this seriously. Money is one thing, but to accomplish my goals in this sport, it means a lot to me.
“I’m not just in this sport for the money, I definitely want to be known as a legend, and as someone who has accomplished a lot of things.
“I’ll fight whoever is put in front of me. Even I’d be scared to fight me.”
Wilder and Chisora were expected to meet this summer but the fight was cancelled as the American was unable to travel to the UK.
The Brit has since written an open letter, slamming the Bronze Bomber's undefeated record and stating he is 'overrated' and 'overhyped'
But Wilder was unfazed by Chisora’s challenge and revealed he is desperate for the bout to take place.
“I’ve seen the letter. Let him keep writing them, it was a lovely letter,” he added.
“This fight will happen, I definitely want it to happen and it would be an easy fight for me, I’ll show people what I can do.
“His style is tailor-made for mine, I love a pressure fighter because I don’t have to do much other than just let my arms go. I’m tall and I use my range well.”
However, Wilder told talkSPORT back in November that he only had eyes for Chisora's compatriot, Tyson Fury, and he is still keen to see the meeting go ahead in the near future.
"It would be a great fight against Fury. It will be a fight like Mayweather vs Pacquiao, it has to happen somehow."
