Canelo Alvarez put on a typically dominant performance when he was asked to try out a virtual reality boxing game.

The sport's pound-for-pound king donned the VR headset during a live interview on Mexican TV a few years back, and dealt with his foe with no trouble whatsoever.

It didn't take long for Canelo's competitive streak to show as he took the game very seriously from the off.

He instantly applied his famous defensive head movement and slipped the opposing character's punches.

Canelo then returned fire with a combination and scored an early knockdown.

The character rose off the canvas and landed a couple of big shots, causing Canelo to swear.

He quickly returned to form though, and landed another series of punches to win by KO.

Canelo proudly celebrated the victory as the audience cheered.

This is a feeling he is now very used to and most recently experienced after his win over Caleb Plant in November.

Canelo is now set to face Dmitry Bivol on Saturday night and will be looking for another big post-fight celebration.
