Darts legend Wayne Mardle steals show by revealing crude name of Raymond van Barneveld’s manager and sends social media into raptures at World Championship

What seemed to be a simple explanation to viewers about who just appeared on screen quickly turned into something that was trending on Twitter for hours.

And unlike the rest of us, Sky Sports commentator and darts legend Mardle managed to keep his composure.

For context, crowd favourite Raymond van Barneveld is competing in his first World Championship match since 2019 on Monday night.

The iconic Dutchman is cruising to victory Lourence Ilagan when the camera zooms in on his girlfriend and manager.

"There's Barney's girlfriend and his manager," Mardle begins, innocently.

Don't make us explain it.

Perhaps the crudest name ever uttered on television before the watershed - and the version everyone heard was quickly doing the rounds on social media.
