Luke Littler edged out by Michael van Gerwen after missing chance to win Premier League Darts with his favourite shot

Luke Littler narrowly missed out on winning on night two of Premier League Darts in an enthralling final against Michael van Gerwen.
After getting past Rob Cross and Luke Humphries, Littler came up against the Dutchman in what was a repeat of the Dutch Darts Masters last month.
They also met in the Bahrain Masters earlier in 2024, with Littler coming out on top.
But van Gerwen won 6-5 in Berlin but Littler will be kicking himself having had the chance to claim the victory but missed on his favourite shot, double ten.
The Dutchman, who earlier failed to checkout at 122, didn't pass up on his second opportunity.
The result means Van Gerwen is second in the table with Littler in third. Winner of night one Michael Smith is top overall.
Night three of Premier League Darts is to take place in Glasgow next Thursday.
It will be hard to top the drama of night two went to the deciding legs, including Littler's win over Humphries as well as Van Gerwen's victory over Smith.
Van Gerwen lost in the quarter-finals on night one in Cardiff but posted averages in excess of 100 in all three of his matches in Germany.
The only two players who are yet to win a match in this year's Premier League are Nathan Aspinall and Peter Wright.
