Luke Littler let out a cheeky smile after hitting an incredible triple tops to win a leg against Peter Wright.

The 17-year-old darts sensation played in the final night of the PDC Premier League ahead of the play-offs next week, and showed his class in the quarter-final clash against Wright, which he won 6-4.

Littler took the lead in stunning fashion behind the oche at the Utilita Arena in Sheffield.

With his quarter-finals clash against Wright level at two legs a piece, Littler was left with 120 to claim the fifth leg.

He could have hit a triple, double and single 20 to get the job done but opted to send all his darts to tops in outstanding fashion.

The Sheffield crowd roared in excitement and awe at what they had just seen, with Sky Sports commentator Stuart Pyke shouting: "Oh my word!"

Littler was visibly chuffed at his efforts and turned to the crowd with a cheeky grin, before going on to beat the Scot 6-4.

He did so by hitting a 180 before ending on yet another double 20, with the teenager sealing his place at the of the Premier League table.

Littler, who averaged 96.93 and hit three 180s, then faced Michael Smith in the semi-finals but narrowly lost 6-5.

Despite this, Littler is still on his way to the play-offs, which take place next Thursday in London.

He won four of the 16 nights en route to the play-offs, with victories claimed in Belfast, Manchester, Liverpool and Aberdeen.

The teenager confirmed his spot in the final four in Scotland on night 14 and played down the sentiment that he's the best player in the world despite another excellent display.

Littler continues to shine since his success in the World Championship when he reached the final at Alexandra Palace, where he lost to world no.1 Luke Humphries.

'The Nuke' could go one step further next Thursday night at the O2 Arena and emerge as a debut Premier League champion.

Smith won the night as he got the better of Humphries in the final, meaning the play-off spots will be occupied by Littler, Humphries, Michael van Gerwen and Smith.
