Paul Lim: 70-year-old star steals the show with stunning 151 checkout at World Cup of Darts

Luke Littler is proving age is just a number in darts, and so is Singapore's veteran star Paul Lim.

At 70 years old, Lim would be forgiven for wanting to have a quiet life having been on the darts circuit since 1973.

But he's out representing his country at the World Cup of Darts and provided a magic moment during Singapore's group clash against fifth seeds Belgium.

Singapore have a penchant for causing surprises, having beaten third seeds Wales in 2019 and top seeds Scotland in 2017, but fell just short as they lost 4-2 to the Belgian team.

But it's safe to say the performance of Lim stole the show as he secured the first leg of the match with a very impressive checkout of 151, throwing a treble 19, treble 18 and double 20.

The watching crowd in Frankfurt couldn't believe what they were seeing as Lim showed that talent is timeless.

However, Lim and teammate Harith Lim - no relation - fell to defeat, meaning their chances of progressing to the last 16 is looking slim.

Lim is something of a cult hero in the game, having become the first player to hit a nine-dart finish at a World Championship in 1990.

In doing so, Lim pocketed £52,000 which is more than double what winner of the tournament Phil Taylor got.

England are the favourites to win the tournament with Luke Humphries and Michael Smith representing the nation.

Littler is not taking part in the World Cup of Darts as he is not ranked as the top two English players on the PDC Order of Merit.

Other big names taking part in the tournament include Dutchman Michael van Gerwen and Scots Peter Wright and Gary Anderson.
