What time is the World Darts Championship final? Date, rules, and commentary as Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen clash for glory

The final of the 2024/25 PDC World Darts Championship is set and Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen will do battle at Alexandra Palace tonight.
This event is not only the biggest in darts but is becoming one of the most popular on the British sporting calendar.
Of course, the event culminates with a stunning final in north London at the 3,200 capacity Ally Pally.
Last year's tournament saw Luke Humphries beat Luke Littler 7-4 to claim his first world title in London.
'Cool Hand Luke' was eliminated from this year's event in the fourth round, making 'The Nuke' Littler the red-hot favourite to lift the Sid Waddell Trophy at just 17 years of age.
Littler smashed Stephen Bunting in the semi-finals to reach his second consecutive final and now he'll take on three-time champion Van Gerwen.
MVG also breezed into the showpiece match, beating Chris Dobey 6-1 in his semi-final.
The 2024/25 PDC World Darts Championship final will take place TONIGHT on Friday, January 3.
It will be held at Ally Pally in north London and walk-ons will start from around 8pm with the action slated to get under way from 8.15pm.
Commentary of tonight's final is on talkSPORT with build-up starting at 7pm. Our commentary team is Ian Danter, Mark Wilson, Paul Nicholson and Chris Mason.

The final will be played as single in, double out – requiring players to score 501 points to win a leg, finishing on either a double or the bullseye.
The match will again be conducted using set-play and will be best of 13 sets, meaning the first to seven wins.
To win a set, you have to win three legs.
Should there be a deciding set, the ultimate victor would have to win by two clear legs.

Final
Littler believes he has learned vital lessons from his final defeat last year and he's ready to take the next step and beat MVG.
He said: “I can’t wait for tomorrow night. If we both turn up, it’s going to be really good.
“I can now focus on Michael. I am hunting my first world title, and he’s after his fourth.
“I am just going to go home, chill out, and I am back tomorrow.
"I have gained loads of experience over the last year.
"Michael has been in numerous finals; this is only my second, but I know where I went wrong last year, and I'm sure I will fix it.
"It would mean everything to lift this title, but my only focus right now is winning seven sets tomorrow night."
Meanwhile, Van Gerwen is determined to keep Littler as far away from the title as possible.
He said: "Luke has had a sniff, and I am going to make sure that is all he gets.
“I have only got to the final and the final means nothing - I want to win and that’s the only thing that counts for me.
“For me the total package has to be right, and the train is still moving that way which is a good thing.
“My experience could be really important, but I haven’t won anything yet. We are still far away!”
