Wayne Rooney’s son ‘wants to be darts player’ and emulate Luke Littler after ‘retiring’ from football

Luke Littler may count Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney's nine-year-old son as a rival in the near future.
Kit, Rooney's third-eldest child, recently celebrated his ninth birthday with a darts-themed party in January.
The youngster's obsession with the arrows comes after he met Littler at the Alexandra Palace following his maiden World Championship triumph earlier that month.
Littler even signed Kit's replica 'Luke The Nuke' shirts.
But Kit may have his own branded shirts in a matter of years as Coleen Rooney revealed in an interview with The Sun how the nine-year-old has 'retired' from football to pursue darts.
If Kit's breakfast is anything to go by, he's certainly on the right path for a career tossing the tungsten.
"The third one has steak for breakfast, this is the darts one, he wants to become a darts player at the minute,"
"Sometimes he'll have a fried egg with it, but mostly it's just a steak - he'll just have that."
Coleen added: "Kai, he's 15, and Klay, who's going to be 12 in May, they're both at the academy at Manchester United, they've been there for quite a few years now.
"The youngest, he goes in at Everton, he's just turned seven, but he absolutely loves it, and the third one, he's retired. He's retired a few times."
In the interview, Coleen also revealed Kit is constantly tossing arrows on the family dart board inside their Cheshire property.
Should Kit continue his love for darts, time is certainly on his side to eclipse Littler's record as the youngest world champion.
Littler rewrote the history books at the Ally Pally in January as he was just 17 when he beat Michael van Gerwen.
It was Van Gerwen who previously held the record given was 24 when he claimed his first world title in 2014.
But given Littler's dominance on the oche since, one wouldn't bet against more world titles in the coming years.
The 18-year-old would love to hear that Rooney's son is looking to emulate him in darts as he's a huge Man United fan.
Littler spoke earlier this month about how United being knocked out of the FA Cup spurred him on to win the UK Open.
He tasted glory in that event for the first time two weeks ago as he demolished James Wade 11-2 in the final.
Littler has also regularly spoken of his love for the Red Devils and he even got the chance to parade his world title around Old Trafford.
So to have one of the club's most iconic players' sons getting into the sport because of his success, must be a good feeling.
Littler is continuing his incredible rise, sitting at the top of the Premier League standings after six nights of action.
After a defeat in the quarter-finals on the first night, Littler was the last man standing on night two in Glasgow.
He picked up his second win of the Premier League on night five in Brighton with a 6-3 win over close pal Nathan Aspinall in the final.
Littler was one win away from picking up his third Premier League victory on night six but was beaten at the final hurdle by Gerwyn Price.
