Taylor, 61, is the headline name among several former champions invited to take part, including Martin 'Wolfie' Adams, Andy 'The Viking' Fordham, John Lowe, Bob Anderson, Richie Burnett, Keith Deller, Dennis Priestley, John Part and Les Wallace.

'The Power' will certainly bring fans out to watch and reminisce over his glory days, having dominated the sport between 1990 and 2013.

It is understood the World Senior Darts Championship will be held in London early next year, set up for players 50 and over, with £25,000 on offer for the winner.

Veteran stars, such as Gary Anderson and Peter Wright, won't be taking part due to the nature of their current PDC contracts.

Taylor's last appearance came at the 2018 world final, where he was beaten 7-2 by Rob Cross.
