The second golf major of the year will take place this week as the game’s best head to New York for the 2023 PGA Championship.
Justin Thomas claimed glory at Southern Hills last year, beating Will Zalatoris in a playoff after Mito Pereira suffered a spectacular final hole collapse.
It was JT’s second major title and he’ll headline another stellar field this year.
The tournament will take place at the superb Oak Hill Country Club, a much-loved venue for many in the game including Rory McIlroy.
The PGA Championship is regarded as having the strongest field of the season and invites twenty PGA club or teaching professionals rather than amateurs like the other majors.
Jon Rahm will no doubt be the man to beat following his superb victory at The Masters in early April.
PGA Championship 2023: Date and start time
The 105th edition of the PGA Championship will be held from Thursday, May 18 to Sunday, May 21.
It is taking place at Oak Hill Country Club’s East Course in Rochester, New York.
Play is due to start at 12pm UK time on the opening two days and at 3pm UK time over the weekend.
However, due to frost on the course, play on Thursday, May 18 didn't start until 1:50pm UK time.

PGA Championship 2023: Course details
Oak Hill’s East Course will play to a par 70 and be a maximum of 7,394 yards in length.
Oak Hill has hosted 3 previous PGA Championships, with the last coming in 2013 and won by Jason Dufner.
The course was built around the Allen Creek, with water providing a hazard on 9 of its 18 holes.
It only has two par 5s and boosts a difficult finish with a pair of par 4s that are both over 500 yards.
PGA Championship 2023: Field and tee times
The field will be made up of 156 players before the cut on Friday night.
Tiger Woods has missed out after undergoing ankle surgery in mid-April while Zalatoris will also not play due to a back injury.
Jordan Spieth is fit despite withdrawing from the AT&T Byron Nelson last weekend due to a left wrist injury.
LIV Golf players will be able to compete including former champions Phil Mickelson, Brooks Koepka and Martin Kaymer. Cameron Smith, Dustin Johnson and Bryson DeChambeau will also be in the field.
Past PGA Championship winners have lifetime invites meaning Rich Beem, John Daly and YE Yang are scheduled to tee it up.
The groupings and tee times for the opening two rounds were confirmed on Tuesday and can be found .
Defending champion Thomas is alongside McIlroy and Collin Morikawa.
Rahm has been grouped with Smith and Matt Fitzpatrick while Scottie Scheffler is alongside Koepka and Gary Woodland.
PGA Championship 2023: What has been said?
A subdued McIlroy admitted he has been working on lowering his expectations ahead of this week’s tournament after his miserable Masters.
"Less expectations," McIlroy said. "Just sort of trying to be in a good spot with taking what comes and not thinking about things too much, not getting ahead of myself.
"Just trying to go out there, play a good first hole of the tournament, and then once I do that, try to play a good second hole and just sort of go from there.
"Golf is golf, and it happens and you're going to have bad days. It wasn't really the performance of Augusta that's hard to get over, it's just more mental aspect and the deflation of it and sort of trying to get your mind in the right place to start going forward again, I guess.
"I think I'm close. I think I've made some good strides even from Quail Hollow a couple weeks ago.

"I'm seeing some better things, better start lines, certainly just some better golf shots. A little more sure of where I'm going to start the ball and sort of a more consistent shot pattern.
"But yeah, we'll get out there and see and play. If I can execute the way that I feel like I can, then I still believe that I'm one of the best players in the world and I can produce good golf to have a chance of winning this week."
