Adam Hadwin brutally tackled by security as he sprays champagne on Nick Taylor in Canadian Open highlight

Security at the Canadian Open weren’t messing around as a celebrating Adam Hadwin was brutally rugby tackled to the floor.
The world no.75 had run onto the green to celebrate with his victorious fellow Canadian Nick Taylor, but a security guard mistook him for a random spectator.
The sensational scenes showed a delighted Hadwin bursting onto the 18th green to spray his good friend in champagne, but he was intercepted by a member of security who picked him up and dumped him on the ground.
Taylor’s caddie was one of the first to realise the mistake, but a number of people on course jumped to his aid, with Hadwin thankfully unharmed.
In fact, the 35-year-old could even joke about the incident after, tweeting a photo of the takedown alongside the caption ‘Put it in the Louvre!’
He even changed his profile picture and header to an image of the incident and retweeted a Golf Canada official who’d written: “This is the bottle, and it’s going in the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame.”
Despite the drama, it was clear to see why Hadwin was so delighted, as Taylor had just beaten Tommy Fleetwood in an incredible play-off victory.
In doing so he became the first Canadian to win the Canadian Open since 1954, pocketing himself $1.62million [£1.29m] in prize money.
Among the hilarious reactions to the scenes was one from English star Tyrell Hatton, who wrote: “Gutted for Tommy but what a way to win your national open! Mad scenes! Praying for Adam Hadwin, what a tackle.”
Hadwin’s wife also amusingly tweeted a meme which said ‘Get my lawyer on the phone!’ and she then added: “Sorry to leave y’all hanging, had to get the toddler ready for bed.
“I’m thrilled to report that @ahadwingolf is still among the land of the living and in true Canadian form, apologised to the security guard for being tackled.”
