Ryder Cup 2023 teams IN FULL: Europe and USA confirm selections for Rome showdown

The 2023 Ryder Cup is fast approaching and excitement is really building as the two teams get ready for the off.
The beautiful Marco Simone Golf Club in Rome will host the 44th edition of the famous tournament which gets underway on Friday, September 29.

Team captain Donald is busy finalising his plans for the week as Europe strive to reclaim the trophy having been thrashed by the USA at Whistling Straits in 2021.
Donald’s men will be up against Zach Johnson and co with the 2007 Masters champion spearheading the American’s charge this year.
The Ryder Cup has never been held in Italy and fans are set for a thrilling week of action.

Team Europe
Donald replaced Henrik Stenson as the European team captain following the Swede’s decision to join LIV Golf.

Donald has named Francesco Molinari, Edoardo Molinari, Jose Maria Olazabal, Thomas Bjorn and Nicolas Colsaerts as his vice-captains.
Team Europe is made up of three qualifiers from each of the European and World points lists plus six captain's picks.
Superstars Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm and Viktor Hovland were first to secure their places on the team and will be the key weapons for Donald.
Robert MacIntyre, Tyrrell Hatton and Matt Fitzpatrick also made it outright.

Ludvig Aberg has earned a spot as one of Donald's six wildcard selections, despite only turning professional this summer.
Meanwhile, Tommy Fleetwood, Sepp Straka, Justin Rose, Shane Lowry and Nicolai Hojgaard were also named.

Team USA
Johnson, who will be joined by vice-captains Stewart Cink, Steve Stricker, Davis Love III, Jim Furyk and Fred Couples, confirmed his team on Tuesday, August 29.
Like Europe, Team USA have six qualifiers and six captain's picks and are littered with top talent including three of the four majors winners this summer.
Their qualifiers include World No1 Scottie Scheffler, US Open champion Wyndham Clark and Open winner Brian Harman.
Patrick Cantlay, Xander Schauffele and Max Homa also made it outright.
PGA Championship winner and LIV Golf star Brooks Koepka was among Johnson's pick as was the out-of-form Justin Thomas.
Sam Burns, Rickie Fowler, Collin Morikawa and Jordan Spieth also earned spots on the team.
Such is the quality in the American game, Johnson had to leave out some big names.
Cameron Young and Keegan Bradley were unlucky to miss out as was the in-form Lucas Glover.
While Koepka made it, other LIV stars weren't considered with Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed, Bryson DeChambeau and Phil Mickelson missing out.
