Rory McIlroy made LIV Golf star’s wife so mad she wanted to punch him in face

Rory McIlroy has made a few enemies on the tour with one LIV Golf star’s wife admitted she would like to punch him in the face.
McIlroy has been an outspoken critic of the breakaway Saudi-backed tour, once insisting that he would rather retire.
However, it was not his views on LIV that led to the comments from Pat Perez’s wife Ashley.
That came after helping Team Europe to a dramatic victory over Team USA at the Ryder Cup in 2023.
Luke Donald captained the continent to a 16½-11½ win over the Americans but there was plenty of spice off the golf course.
Perez's wife Ashley took to social media to have a pop at McIlroy.
Commenting on a post last week, she said: "I can’t possibly be the only one that would absolutely love to watch Rory get punched in the face.
“I mean that in the nicest way possible… kinda.”
It came in response to an altercation between McIlroy and Jim Mackay, AKA Bones, in the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club car park.
The Northern Irishman was less than pleased with the Americans on the final hole.
Patrick Cantlay and Wyndham Clark claimed a point against McIlroy and Matt Fitzpatrick in the final four-ball match while Cantlay had been mocked by fans all day amid reports he refused to wear a USA hat as a protest over lack of pay at the Ryder Cup.
Cantlay's caddie Joe LaCava mimicked the hat-waving crowd after a decisive putt by waving his own cap while McIlroy was incensed that he stood in his way as he prepared his own putt.
Team Europe golfers Shane Lowry, Justin Rose and McIlroy's caddie Harry Diamond all confronted LaCava while Donald cleared up the matter.
Donald said: "Rory politely asked Joe to move aside. He was in his line.
"He stood there and didn’t move for a while and continued to wave his hat. So I think Rory was upset about that.”
McIlroy has also been outspoken over LIV Golf, insisting that their roster needed the Ryder Cup more than the competition needed them.
Perez signed for LIV Golf in 2022 for a reported $10million while his wife broke the news on Instagram, writing: “Breaking news!! Pat Perez signs with LIV Golf.”
The 48-year-old, who has won three PGA Tour events, has yet to land victory on the LIV Golf circuit.
However, reports from earlier this year claim that Perez will soon be divorced from his wife Ashley.
He signed up to play in Dustin Johnson’s 4Aces GC team for the LIV 2024 season, but has not broken into the top 10 of any event.
